About The Position

The VP of Educational Partnerships and Business Development is responsible for identifying, developing, and activating revenue generating opportunities that advance positive youth development, expand community impact and support overall sustainability within local Ys. This role aligns strategy, vision, and execution of a scalable educational/youth development partnership model, leveraging industry expertise and innovative solutions with existing practice leadership at YUSA. Working in partnership with the Service Delivery ecosystem, this position strengthens our system wide capacity to optimize our national footprint and drive business growth strategies. VP collaborates internally and externally to deliver high-quality experiences that drive participation, resource utilization, create connection, and increase revenue growth YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) embraces a remote-first working environment which means most employees work remotely from a home office within the continental United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required in a relevant field such as Business, or related disciplines required. Advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience required
  • Deep functional expertise and functional thought leadership
  • Oversees a department or function
  • Highly strategic and operational decision-making authority
  • Mid- to long-term strategic planning for department or functional area
  • Internal and external communications, executive level, high influence on department vision and strategy
  • Management-level autonomy; no daily supervision from manager; goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:Source, design, refine and execute enterprise level educational/youth development partnership and business development strategies that are relevant and scalable across the network. Serve as a catalyst for positioning Ys as trusted community and school partners that support youth success and family engagement.
  • Business Development:Build and advance growth strategy to expand Y impact and create sustainable revenue models. Align with industry standards, federal and state priorities, and funding expectations to optimize opportunities and support network wide adoption and sustainability.
  • Leading Practices:Endorse leading practices around local Y management and engagement with educational/youth development experts – including go to market approach, operating models, partnership lifecycle management, MOU execution and renewal and performance expectations and quality controls to launch and scale partnerships efficiently and consistently.
  • Resource Development and Activation: Partner with practice leadership, service delivery and emerging opportunities to align strategy, process, innovation, resource development and activation. Develop infrastructure across the ecosystem to support educational/youth development partnerships at scale.
  • Budget Oversight:Develop and manage department budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and strong ROI.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate internally at YUSA to deliver integrated seamless support to local Ys.
  • Engage with external consultants to advance and accelerate the work. Build partnerships with school districts, youth development experts, and educational stakeholders to drive new revenue streams. Maintain and leverage CEO relationships for advocacy, influence and endorsement.
  • Quality and Consistency:Establish metrics to measure effectiveness, participation, and impact of services provided to the network; use data and insights to drive continuous quality improvement. Ensure services demonstrate clear value toward local Y organizational excellence and financial sustainability.
  • Risk Management:Partner across YUSA to ensure we are mitigating risk and exposure to YUSA as well as our local Ys. Stay abreast of emerging issues that may impact the Y network.
