About The Position

Jet Aviation is seeking a strategic, credible, and people-focused Vice President, Cybersecurity & IT Operations to report to the CIO and lead our global cybersecurity program, IT operations strategy, technology roadmap, and service delivery. This role balances security, operational resilience, business enablement, service quality, and long-term scalability across a global aviation business. This is a highly collaborative leadership role for someone who builds trust across IT, business functions, customers, auditors, and global teams. The successful candidate will be comfortable presenting to executives and broader employee audiences, adapting their communication to the situation, and staying personally connected to the teams and projects they lead. This is not an ivory-tower role: you will be involved in projects, accessible to the team, and expected to get to know the individuals across IT personally. You will serve as a trusted partner to Lines of Business, executive and functional leaders, customers, contracts, Legal, Compliance, Risk, HR, General Dynamics, auditors, and external providers. From guiding security and privacy clauses in customer contracts to responding to customer assessments, you will help the business reach practical, secure solutions wherever possible—and clearly articulate the “why” when requirements or risks limit available options. Cybersecurity will be a particularly important area of focus, including the continued development of our security strategy, risk and compliance posture, customer security assessments, incident response, data privacy, and related assurance activities. You will help Jet Aviation maintain a strong and practical security environment—one that protects our business while enabling our teams to serve customers effectively. You will lead our Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) and our cybersecurity audits, participate in many other internal, external, and statutory audits, and co-lead our Data Governance Committee. You will inherit a strong team, not a broken one, and have the opportunity to help drive us to version 2.0 of our strategy, technology stack, operating model, and team, including infrastructure, evolving the cybersecurity and IT Operations posture and technology stack, and suing automation and AI to create efficiencies and reduce risk.. You will be accountable for results and empowered with the authority to make the changes your team needs to succeed, including owning your budget, vendors, personnel decisions, organizational development, cybersecurity strategy, and IT roadmaps. Success will require more than technical expertise. You will be highly visible across Jet Aviation, comfortable presenting to executives, peer leaders, auditors, customers, and global users, and skilled at adapting your communication to your audience. You will build relationships across regions and stay closely connected to the people, projects, and business priorities you support. Public speaking should be something you enjoy, and you should be able to explain a complex topic in a clear, relevant, and approachable way with a “know your audience” style. This role is an office-based position, on a hybrid schedule, working at least four times weekly from the office.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise cybersecurity programs and global IT operations in a complex, distributed organization.
  • Experience developing cybersecurity strategies and multi-year roadmaps based on people, process, and technology gaps.
  • Broad knowledge of cybersecurity governance, risk management, threat and vulnerability management, security awareness, security policies, security engineering, identity and access management, incident response, and third-party cyber risk.
  • Experience establishing or maintaining an Information Security Management System and aligning security practices with corporate, regulatory, customer, and industry requirements.
  • Strong understanding of business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resilience, and response planning for significant cyber or technology disruptions.
  • Experience overseeing IT operations across infrastructure, communications systems, networks, end-user computing, cloud services, on-premises environments, and operational platforms.
  • A track record of improving service availability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through effective operating models, controls, processes, and continual improvement.
  • Experience with SOX, ISO standards or certifications, US and international data-protection laws, export-controlled information, customer security assessments, and regulatory or statutory audits.
  • The ability to assess business technology requirements, guide stakeholders toward secure and practical solutions, and balance security controls with user experience and customer needs.
  • Experience communicating cybersecurity awareness topics, policy changes, and technology controls clearly to executives, technical teams, business leaders, customers, and global users.
  • A demonstrated interest in innovation, including the use of automation and AI to improve processes, increase efficiency, and reduce risk. You have questioned the status quo and changed a process people had accepted simply because “that’s how we’ve always done it.”
  • Strong experience managing budgets, vendors, contracts, sourcing strategies, service performance, and globally dispersed teams.
  • A collaborative, coaching-oriented leadership style focused on engagement, capability development, succession planning, and career growth.
  • Strong personal values aligned with Jet Aviation: trust, honesty, alignment, and transparency.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience—is required.
