About The Position

The Vice President of Corporate Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end execution and performance of Opta’s global corporate finance function, including Group Accounting, Consolidations & Financial Reporting, Corporate FP&A, and Global Treasury Operations. This role requires a hands-on, execution-focused leader who combines strong technical expertise with business acumen. The VP will not only lead the function but will actively engage in the work – owning outputs, solving complex problems, and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery across all areas of responsibility. Reporting to the CFO, the VP will serve as a trusted partner and key contributor, ensuring the integrity of financial information, strengthening financial processes, and delivering insights that support strategic decision-making and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • CPA designation required
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance and accounting
  • Demonstrated experience across financial reporting, consolidations, FP&A, and treasury
  • Proven track record of owning outputs and delivering in high-accountability environments
  • Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency, global organizations
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial sectors required
  • Deep expertise in financial reporting, consolidations, and IFRS
  • Strong financial modeling, planning, and analytical capabilities
  • Experience with ERP and consolidation systems (Oracle EPM, OneStream, IBM Cognos or similar)
  • High attention to detail with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate financial insights

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis – Preparation, maintenance and delivery of internal and external financial information and analysis. Establish and maintain a single source of truth for reporting and analysis.
  • Planning & Budgeting – Accountability for developing and maintaining Opta’s long range plan and budgetary planning cycles. Development of business plans and budgets, in conjunction with executive and business unit leadership.
  • Treasury Management – Management of global treasury activities including cash flow forecasting, liquidity measurement, and oversight of certain day-to-day banking/borrowing activities and deliverables.
  • Group Accounting – Development and implementation of effective accounting strategies, policies, procedures and controls. Provide accounting and financial advice, and analytical support.
  • Relationships with internal stakeholders – Build a culture of collaboration by working closely with the business units and demonstrating how finance can inform and influence operational and strategic decision-making. Be a trusted advisor to the CFO, and act as a change agent for the finance function, and company as a whole.
  • Development of the Finance Organization – Build and lead a business-centric finance team that understands operational drivers and actively engages with the business. Foster intellectual curiosity and ownership, ensuring team members understand the drivers behind results. Drive talent development and succession planning through coaching, recruitment, and meaningful exposure to the business.
  • Own and personally drive the integrity, timeliness and quality of consolidated financial reporting across all global entities.
  • Oversee and actively support the monthly close, consolidation process, and preparation of internal and external financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and all regulatory and stakeholder reporting requirements.
  • Lead the year-end audit process, working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide hands-on leadership on complex accounting issues, technical positions, and non-routine transactions.
  • Establish and continuously improve accounting policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Drive improvements in the quality, speed, and efficiency of the close and consolidation process, including systems optimization.
  • Lead and actively participate in the global budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Ensure high-quality, integrated financial plans across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights through variance analysis, KPI reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Support strategic decision-making through scenario analysis, financial modeling, and business case development.
  • Work closely with business leaders to ensure financial plans reflect operational realities and clearly link financial outcomes to underlying business drivers.
  • Oversee and engage directly in global treasury operations, including liquidity management, cash forecasting, and capital allocation.
  • Ensure robust short-term and long-term cash flow visibility, including ownership of rolling cash forecasts.
  • Manage lender relationships, covenant compliance, and external reporting requirements.
  • Support financing strategies, refinancing activities, and capital structure decisions.
  • Lead a multi-functional Corporate Finance team, providing clear direction, accountability, and hands-on support.
  • Act as a player-coach, stepping into the detail when needed to unblock issues, ensure quality, and meet deadlines.
  • Set high performance standards and ensure consistent execution across all areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and mentor team members while ensuring the function is structured for efficiency and scalability.
  • Drive accountability and responsiveness across the Corporate Finance function, ensuring issues are identified early and resolved quickly.
  • Identify and drive improvements in financial processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to enhance ERP, consolidation tools, and reporting capabilities.
  • Drive automation and simplification across reporting, planning, and treasury processes.
  • Improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility to support decision-making.
  • Act as a key contributor to enterprise initiatives, including M&A, integration, and capital projects.
  • Provide financial leadership on cross-functional initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Support the CFO and senior leadership team with timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis.
