About The Position

EQT is seeking an experienced Vice President for its global communications team. This role requires proven media relations, strong project leadership, M&A communications experience, and a keen interest in current affairs. The position is part of an integrated corporate affairs team within a purpose-driven global investment organization. The Corporate Affairs team is responsible for building the firm’s reputation through global Communications and Public Affairs activities. The team is diverse and located in Hong Kong, London, New York, Oslo, Singapore, and Stockholm. As Vice President, Communications, you will lead the development and execution of communication strategies for major firm announcements, including M&A and fundraises, and contribute to EQT's broader profile-raising efforts. You will work closely with the Head of Corporate Affairs in the Americas and collaborate with colleagues globally, with autonomy to shape and own communication strategies. The role also involves working on cross-functional initiatives like integrated marketing campaigns and Public Affairs projects. This is a permanent, full-time role based in New York or Chicago.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, either in-house or at a communications or PR agency
• Some background in private capital or financial services
• Proven experience in proactive media relations, including direct journalist outreach and pitching across financial or business media
• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives
• Demonstrated project management capability, with experience leading multiple workstreams simultaneously and delivering to deadline
• Experience developing communications strategies for significant corporate announcements (transactions, capital raises, or similar)
• Familiarity with working cross-functionally in a matrixed or global organisation
• Comfort operating at both strategic and executional levels — from advising on approach to producing the final materials

Nice To Haves

• Experience in private equity, asset management, or broader financial services
• Exposure to investor relations or capital markets communications
• Experience working across multiple geographies or time zones as part of a global team

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive and reactive media relations, including story-mining, pitching, and building strong journalist relationships
• Develop and execute communications strategies for M&A transactions, fundraises, and other significant firm announcements
• Prepare high-quality communications materials, including communications plans, press releases, key messages, and Q&A documents
• Partner cross-functionally with investment, fundraising, legal, business development, and shareholder relations teams to deliver well-coordinated, timely communications
• Contribute to the firm's ongoing Americas profile-raising strategy, identifying opportunities to build EQT's brand in key markets
• Collaborate with EQT’s Americas portfolio companies on strategic communications, special situations, and brand-building, serving as a bridge between Group Corporate Affairs and portfolio communications teams
• Work autonomously on complex, concurrent workstreams while maintaining strong quality standards and meeting deadlines
