About The Position

TD Asset Management (TDAM), a leading North American investment manager, is seeking a Vice President, Client Portfolio Manager for its Equity Client Portfolio Management (CPM) team. This role acts as a crucial link between TDAM’s equity portfolio management teams and distribution channels, providing expertise on investment solutions. The CPM will advocate for TDAM’s equity capabilities, with a focus on fundamental strategies, and serve as a subject matter expert on investment philosophy, process, performance, and competitive positioning. The role involves significant client-facing responsibilities, engaging with institutional and retail audiences, and communicating equity market insights, portfolio positioning, research views, and strategy characteristics. The CPM will collaborate with various internal teams, including Portfolio Management, Distribution, Product, Marketing, Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, and senior leadership, to ensure consistent delivery of investment messaging.

Requirements

  • CFA designation plus a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • 10+ years’ experience in capital markets with strong exposure to equity strategies; direct experience with portfolio management or equity research preferred.
  • Strong understanding of investment strategies and portfolio construction concepts.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in interpreting performance, attribution, and risk analytics.
  • High proficiency with analytical tools and market data platforms.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Self-starter with the ability to function with minimal supervision and work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Understanding of the needs across a broad range of client channels, including retail and institutional investors.

Responsibilities

  • Represent TDAM’s guiding principles, process, advantages, performance/attribution, and portfolio positioning to internal and external clients.
  • Represent portfolio management on topics related to financial markets and our investment capabilities, including TDAM's fundamental and quantitative investment process, market and economic outlook, portfolio construction, investment thesis for holdings, active/passive investment strategies, factor investing, and ESG integration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the creation of communication content to support the marketing and distribution of TDAM’s solution set.
  • Provide updates on financial market performance.
  • Draft opinion pieces.
  • Construct presentation material.
  • Write portfolio commentaries.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Portfolio Management, Sales, Sales Enablement, and Marketing and Communications.
  • Identify opportunities and support the design of investment solutions for both institutional and retail channels.
