About The Position

Fidelity Institutional is seeking a Capital Markets Strategist with proven global macro subject matter expertise covering equity, fixed income, and alternative markets. This strategist will serve as the primary client-facing interface for advisor clients, articulating Fidelity’s macro view and its translation into portfolio positioning through various communication channels. The role involves collaboration with sales, marketing, and relationship management to deliver insights and viewpoints to clients and prospects. The goal is to enhance Fidelity's thought-leadership brand, increase credibility, and contribute to market share growth in investment solutions.

Requirements

  • 10 plus years investment management experience
  • Deep knowledge of the capital markets across equities, bonds, and alternatives.
  • Experience investing through multiple market cycles.
  • Ability to consume and synthesize market data, macro trends, internal and external investment research, and economic data to formulate investment insights.
  • Presence and credibility via multi-media presentations to represent insights and investment views of the team, including one-on-one meetings, large venue stage presentations, digital webinars, and media appearances.
  • Ability to interact with and influence both external clients (advisors, shareholders, boards of trustees, due diligence analysts, etc.) and internal clients (sales, marketing, relationship management, etc.).
  • Creative skills to draft investment commentary, client presentations, social media posts, and investment thought-leadership for external audiences.
  • Ability to travel 50-75%.
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client-facing interface to advisor clients.
  • Clearly articulate Fidelity’s macro view and its translation into portfolio positioning via in-person, digital, and written mediums.
  • Work alongside sales, marketing, and relationship management to bring insights and point-of-view to clients and prospects.
  • Elevate the thought-leadership brand of Fidelity and increase credibility.
  • Contribute to increasing investment solution market share.
  • Act as the face of asset management global insights, investment, and asset allocation views.
  • Formulate and communicate investment insights and asset allocation positioning on behalf of sales and relationship management associates to clients.
  • Create weekly, monthly, and quarterly investment commentary across a range of economic, investment, and geo-political topics.
  • Evaluate and respond to market and global events, providing an investment point of view drawing from broader Fidelity and external views.
  • Cover a geographical area consisting of approximately a fifth of the US, supporting all sales and relationship managers and their clients within that territory.
  • Turn investment, market, and economic insights into commercial outcomes aligned with investment sales goals.
  • Collaborate within a team of investment professionals to bring differentiated points-of-view and insights into a single team narrative.
