About The Position

MSCI is seeking a Vice President of AI Engineering to build and lead a high-performing team focused on developing a scalable conversational AI platform and related infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with research scientists, product managers, and design leaders to translate business problems into structured engineering solutions. The position requires partnering with data, cloud, and security teams to design architectures for data pipelines and multi-agent orchestration, while fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and responsible AI deployment. The Vice President will contribute to the overall AI strategy, ensuring alignment with product vision, compliance requirements, and business growth priorities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software or AI engineering experience, with expertise in overseeing large-scale AI systems.
  • Proven expertise in deploying and optimizing large language models and multi-agent architectures.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native AI infrastructure (Azure, GCP) with hands-on knowledge of distributed inference pipelines.
  • Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Langflow, etc.
  • Strong grounding in data engineering, model evaluation, MLOps, and system observability.
  • Deep knowledge of conversational AI, dialog management, and human-in-the-loop design.
  • Demonstrated success in building and mentoring diverse AI and engineering teams.
  • Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing team focused on developing scalable conversational AI platform and related infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with research scientists, product managers, and design leaders to translate business problems into structured engineering solution.
  • Partner with data, cloud, and security teams to design architectures for data pipelines and multi-agent orchestration.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and responsible AI deployment across all teams and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall AI strategy, ensuring alignment with product vision, compliance requirements, and business growth priorities.
  • Architect and implement the Conversational AI platform using Gen AI models, semantic search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques.
  • Oversee system design for multi-modal interactions (text, voice, vision) ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of state-of-the-art LLMs and open frameworks for inference, and orchestration.
  • Build continuous learning and feedback systems using real-world conversational data for model improvement.
  • Establish engineering standards, experimentation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines for Gen AI services.
  • Drive cross-functional innovation to deliver differentiating features such as adaptive personas, context memory, and trust/safety filters.
  • Manage vendor relationships, platform partnerships, and cloud optimization for large-scale AI workloads.
