Vice President - ABL Origination - New York, NY
About The Position
The Vice President - ABL Origination role is responsible for helping to originate asset-based transactions. This position will partner with Senior Originators, Underwriting, and Portfolio Management across all geographies to move transactions through the deal lifecycle from origination to close. The role involves driving loan growth through targeted clients/prospects in coordination with coverage banking, demonstrating subject matter expertise, and translating knowledge into strategic dialogue and value-added ideas. Collaboration with internal partners is key to achieving optimal outcomes. The VP will originate and assist senior originators and underwriters with deal qualification, screening, diligence, and the closing process, while adhering to risk/compliance policies and guidelines. Additionally, the role includes mentoring and developing junior teammates and demonstrating Truist values.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree
- 5-10 years of ABL experience
- Solid subject matter expertise including knowledge of industry drivers, product positioning, structuring and risk mitigation.
- Understand and have experience with an ABL syndication process for left lead and participatory transactions
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional areas to resolve complex issues
- Strong interpersonal skills which foster teamwork, trust, creativity/innovation and accountability
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and insightfully
