Vibe Coding Engineer (Generative AI) — Entry Level
About The Position
CTG is seeking to fill a Vibe Coding Engineer (Generative AI) — Entry Level position for our client. This is a remote, 12-month contract role. The engineer will be responsible for building rapid prototypes, proof-of-concepts, internal tools, and AI-powered applications using modern software development practices and Generative AI technologies. They will leverage AI-assisted development tools and develop full-stack applications. The role involves working with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP). The engineer will also design and integrate APIs and microservices, experiment with AI orchestration patterns, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include source control using Git/GitHub, testing, troubleshooting, refining, and documenting prototypes, and staying current with emerging Generative AI technologies.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, or Node.js.
- Experience with React and/or Next.js.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and Git/GitHub.
- Hands-on experience with Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI-assisted coding tools.
- Understanding of LLMs, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, AI agents, and MCP.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and experiment with emerging tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for Generative AI, rapid prototyping, and AI-assisted software development.
- 0–2 years of professional software development experience.
- Demonstrated experience building software projects, prototypes, applications, or proof-of-concepts using modern development technologies.
- Academic, personal, internship, open-source, or project-based experience may be considered in lieu of extensive professional experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using AI coding assistants or Generative AI tools to enhance software development is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build rapid prototypes, proof-of-concepts, internal tools, and AI-powered applications using modern software development practices and Generative AI technologies.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar platforms to accelerate software development and experimentation.
- Develop full-stack applications and services using technologies such as React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Golang.
- Work with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Design and integrate REST APIs, microservices, and AI-enabled application components.
- Experiment with AI orchestration patterns and emerging developer tools to transform ideas into functional solutions quickly.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to understand requirements and develop innovative prototypes.
- Use Git and GitHub for source control, collaboration, and code management.
- Test, troubleshoot, refine, and document prototypes and applications.
- Stay current with emerging Generative AI technologies, frameworks, coding assistants, and development methodologies.
