About The Position

Lovejoy Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is hiring full-time Veterinary Technicians to provide skilled patient care and exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. The hospital is building a new team for its general practice and urgent care hospital, scheduled to open in October 2026, in Boston’s historic North End. The organization aims to foster a culture that celebrates diversity and provides inclusive service to the community. The hospital is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Evenings and rotating weekends are required. The salary is $29–$35 per hour, determined by the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
