Experienced Veterinary Technician
About The Position
Big Bend Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join their team. This is a part-time position at a fast-paced, state-of-the-art, one-doctor small animal practice located in Riverview, FL. The hospital offers a comprehensive range of services including preventative care, surgery, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, and boarding/grooming services. The practice is situated in a growing area with a rural feel, offering easy access to Tampa and Sarasota, and is an ideal location for families with excellent public schools.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Must be able to properly restrain pets
- Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
Responsibilities
- Pet restraint
- Triage incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
