About The Position
Tequesta Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with patient care and veterinary procedures, while communicating with clients and helping maintain a safe, clean, and well-equipped clinic. The clinic is a three-doctor AAHA hospital in an affluent coastal community, with ultrasound, digital X-ray and digital dental X-ray, an in-house lab, and a class 4 therapeutic laser. The clinic promotes an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and is looking for someone interested in growing and building a long-term career. The schedule requires flexibility Monday through Saturday. Weekday hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating Saturday hours from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There are no Sunday or holiday hours.
Requirements
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
- Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
- Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
