About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Medical Team! We are a state of the art facility equipped with advance diagnostic tools which allows us to provide support to both routine and critical patient needs. We have 24-hour care with an emergency doctor and technicians on site at ALL times. In addition to our Feline Friendly and AAHA accreditations, VCA Metzger Animal Hospital is a Level III VECCS (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society) Certified Veterinary Emergency Hospital. We are proud to promote and cultivate a supportive and collaborative culture within our hospital. Requirements
- Experienced Veterinary Technician
- Credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT)
Responsibilities
- Support Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
- Win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient.
- Utilize knowledge and skills in physical examinations and patient assessment.
- Perform anesthesia monitoring.
- Assist with surgical preparation and procedures.
- Conduct dentistry.
- Perform radiology.
- Conduct laboratory work.
- Perform venipuncture.
- Perform catheter placement.
- Manage pharmacy.
- Oversee patient recovery.
- Provide compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
