Experienced or Registered Veterinary Technician
About The Position
Good Samaritan Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced or Registered Veterinary Technician to join their team. This position is for a full-time role with a salary range of $18.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience. The schedule involves four 10-hour days per week. Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician credential or a minimum of two years of hands-on veterinary technician experience
- Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, and laboratory diagnostics
- Knowledge of preventive care and vaccines
- Excellent communication and client-service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively
- Passion for veterinary medicine and commitment to continued learning
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain patients with compassion and confidence
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory sample collection
- Obtain diagnostic radiographs and perform in-house laboratory testing
- Assist with surgery and monitor anesthesia
- Administer medications, treatments, and vaccines as directed
- Triage patients and assist with urgent and emergency cases
- Educate clients on preventive care, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation
- Work closely with veterinarians and teammates to provide exceptional patient care
