About The Position

Northside Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician or license-eligible Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. The clinic is a full-service animal hospital in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, offering routine and emergency care as well as alternative therapies. The position averages 35–40 hours per week across four 10-hour shifts. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM. The hourly salary is $24–$42, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician certification, or eligibility to obtain a license in New York.
Surgical experience.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
