About The Position

Belton Animal Clinic and Exotic Care Center is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. Team members work four days per week from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an hour for lunch. Some Saturdays are required, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Compensation is $25.00–$27.00 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. The clinic offers specialized diagnostic and surgical procedures and care for exotic pets, including reptiles, small mammals, and birds. It is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and is dedicated to an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity.

Requirements

Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
