About The Position

Animal Care Hospital of Walnut Creek is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with examinations, surgery, anesthesia, recovery, and other technical procedures. The technician also communicates with clients, maintains medical records, helps dispense medications, and keeps the hospital’s care areas and equipment prepared. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week, including a required weekend day. Salary is $25.00–$35.00, dependent on skills and experience. The hospital provides in-house diagnostic services, including digital x-ray, laboratory services, abdominal ultrasound, and echocardiogram. Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.

Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is sought in the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
