About The Position

Chewy Vet Care is seeking a passionate Veterinary Technician to provide high-level veterinary medical care in a collaborative, pet-loving practice. The newly designed practices provide advanced equipment, purpose-built technology, and a supportive team culture. The role uses integrated technology to deliver consistent, appropriate medical care and supports patient care across procedures and treatments including blood transfusions, oxygen cages, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring for unstable or high-risk patients. The position also involves handling animal bodily fluids and tissues, following Standard Operating Procedures and Standards of Care, supporting others with practice information management system (PIMS) technology, maintaining controlled-substance logs, and cleaning workspaces after patient or lab-sample interactions.

Compensation starts at $23–$28 per hour for non-credentialed technicians and $25–$30 per hour for credentialed technicians. Chewy Vet Care offers flexible scheduling and benefits intended to support employees professionally, financially, mentally, and physically.

Requirements

• Ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.

• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50–70 pounds using an optional team lift and occasionally lift more than 70 pounds using a team lift.
• Ability to stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in practice.
• Successful completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level, proficient veterinary medical care.
• Use integrated technology to deliver consistent and appropriate medical care.
• Perform patient care such as blood transfusions, oxygen cage care, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring for unstable or high-risk patients.
• Perform functions requiring the handling of animal bodily fluids and tissues.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standards of Care (SOC).
• Serve as a PIMS administrative super-user and assist others in using technology.
• Act responsibly with the practice's pharmacy holdings and maintain controlled-substance logs.
• Clean workspaces after every patient or patient lab-sample interaction.
• Perform other responsibilities deemed vital within the scope of the role.
