Veterinary Technician ($5,000 Sign On Bonus)
About The Position
Allendale Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced, passionate Veterinary Technician to join its expanding team. The Veterinary Technician plays a central role in delivering seamless, empathetic care. The role supports wellness and sick visits; assists with general surgeries and dental procedures; manages in-house laboratory diagnostics and radiology; and helps ensure smooth in-house pharmacy and inventory operations. In addition to traditional veterinary technician duties, the technician contributes to client education and communication, electronic medical record documentation, diagnostic work, reviewing medical records and lab work, medication dose calculations, clinical rounds with the doctor, and leading appointments.
Requirements
- At least 1–2 years of veterinary technician experience.
- Surgical experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management and efficiency, with the ability to prioritize.
- Resourceful problem-solving skills with active recall.
- Passion for and commitment to animal welfare.
Nice To Haves
- Veterinary Technician license or certification; preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Support wellness and sick visits.
- Assist with general surgeries and dental procedures.
- Manage in-house laboratory diagnostics and radiology.
- Support in-house pharmacy and inventory operations.
- Educate and communicate with clients.
- Complete detailed electronic medical record documentation.
- Review medical records and laboratory work.
- Calculate doses for oral and injectable medications.
- Participate in rounds with the doctor to apply clinical knowledge.
- Lead appointments, including taking histories, recording TPR, and managing medications.
