About The Position

Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The role supports veterinarians with clinical procedures and patient care, communicates with clients, and helps maintain a clean, well-stocked, safe hospital environment. The clinic serves dogs and cats and provides veterinary care, boarding, and grooming services in Sarasota, Florida.

Requirements

• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is desired.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals compassionately.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
