About The Position

Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC), a growing multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice in the Portland, Maine area, is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join its Dentistry & Oral Surgery team and work alongside a board-certified veterinary dentist. The role supports advanced dental and oral examinations, diagnostics, and procedures, with an emphasis on patient safety, sterility, anesthesia monitoring, and compassionate care. The position is full-time, scheduled Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, though hours may vary. Some holidays are required. Compensation is $25–$38 per hour based on experience and licensure, with an eligible sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 commensurate with experience and credentials. Requirements

Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential in good standing.
Strong anesthesia, patient handling, and dental imaging skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A positive, compassionate approach to patient care.

Nice To Haves

Veterinary dentistry experience preferred.
EzyVet or SmartFlow experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with advanced dental and oral examinations, diagnostics, and procedures.
Prepare patients and equipment, and maintain safety and sterility.
Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during dental and surgical procedures.
Assist with periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery procedures.
Educate clients on oral health, post-procedure care, and prevention.
