About The Position

Oath Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners.

The schedule may begin as early as 7:45 AM and continue until closing, typically around 6:00 PM. Saturday hours are 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Start and end times may be adjusted based on business needs.

Oath Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital in East Meadow, opened in May 2023. It provides preventive care, dental care, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and an in-house pharmacy for pets in the greater East Meadow and Long Island areas. Requirements

• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
