About The Position

Toro Park Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time or part-time Veterinary Technician to support its veterinarians and support staff in providing high-quality care. The role is part of a collaborative, team-oriented clinic serving dogs and cats. The hospital uses low-stress, Fear Free techniques and state-of-the-art treatment. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday and some Saturdays, for 40 hours per week. Salary is $28–$32 per hour, based on experience and skill set.

Requirements

• Veterinary experience.
• Technical know-how in disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, including collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under a veterinarian’s supervision.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
