Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. In addition to traditional veterinary services, our hospital offers diagnostic ultrasound, echocardiography, acupuncture, acupressure, physical rehabilitation, therapeutic laser therapy, and massage. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A positive attitude and desire to continue learning and growing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • A genuine passion for patient care and client education.
  • Confidence assisting with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during appointments, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care and hands-on support for patients.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect patient samples.
  • Process laboratory work and complete diagnostic testing.
  • Fill and prepare pharmacy prescriptions accurately.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care.
  • Use Fear Free and Low-Stress Handling techniques to promote patient comfort and safety.
  • Educate clients about treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and complete patient documentation.
  • Keep treatment and examination areas clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Collaborate with teammates to support efficient hospital workflow and outstanding client service.
