About The Position
Join the VCA Blairstown Animal Hospital Team. We are seeking a talented Veterinary Technician to join our progressive, well-established five-doctor small animal practice full time. Our hospital is located in Blairstown, NJ, a semi-rural town in beautiful Northwest New Jersey providing easy access via Interstate 80 to New York City (one hour) to the east and the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania (1/2 hour) to the west. We are an AAHA certified, full service, computerized practice (paperless) with in-house blood machines, ultrasound, digital x-ray, monitoring equipment, high speed dental unit, dental x-ray, laser therapy and more, and we are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients. Our team has a shared devotion to providing progressive medicine with compassion as a driving force and we are eager to welcome a like-minded individual! Surgical and dental experience is required.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Support technician and doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
- Win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient.
- Utilize skills in physical examinations and patient assessment.
- Perform anesthesia monitoring.
- Assist with surgical preparation and procedures.
- Conduct dentistry.
- Perform radiology.
- Conduct laboratory work.
- Perform venipuncture.
- Perform catheter placement.
- Manage pharmacy.
- Oversee patient recovery.
- Provide compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
