Veterinary Technician
About The Position
The Pet Wellness Group is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, along with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners. The position is scheduled for 32–34 hours per week, with a four-day work week and a scheduled day off. A rotational Saturday shift is required every other week. Pay is $16–$24 per hour, based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. The role supports veterinarians in patient care and clinical procedures, communicates with clients, performs technical duties, maintains accurate records, and helps keep the facility and equipment ready for use. The Pet Wellness Group’s state-of-the-art facility includes three exam rooms, a large treatment area, a separate surgical suite, and a cat-friendly wing. Equipment includes an in-house lab, digital dental radiographs, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and electrocardiogram monitors. Requirements
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
- Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with dispensing medications.
- Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
