About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate, full-time Veterinary Technician to join a privately owned, non-corporate veterinary hospital. The technician assists the veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinates animal care, and monitors patients’ recovery. The role works closely with the hospital staff to support the health and well-being of pet patients. The hospital is open on weekends, and employees are scheduled for weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is required.
- Knowledge of animal care and handling.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment.
- Patience and a love for animals.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Avimark.
Responsibilities
- Triage pets as they arrive at the hospital.
- Obtain patient histories from clients.
- Take vital signs and acquire blood samples.
- Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery.
- Administer medications and provide clients with at-home dosage instructions.
- Keep accurate patient records.
