About The Position

Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is hiring Veterinary Technicians across multiple specialty departments, including RVT Supervisors, Neurology, Radiation Oncology Anesthetist, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology. The role supports specialty and emergency veterinary care in a collaborative hospital environment with board-certified specialists, experienced clinicians, advanced technology, and complex cases. The posted base pay is $26–$29 per hour, with a swing-shift differential of $3 per hour and an overnight differential of $5 per hour. RVTs hired into ICU positions may be eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus. The posting also lists base pay of $26–$34 USD.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English. Additional language fluency is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Registered or provisional veterinary technician credential required.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic.
• Reliable, organized, and committed to providing high-level patient and client care.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Proficient English speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Nice To Haves

• Emergency or specialty veterinary experience is a plus.
• Fluency in additional languages is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level patient and client care.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and diagnostic sample collection.
• Monitor anesthesia and support sedation and procedures.
• Place IV catheters and manage fluid therapy.
• Calculate and administer medications by IV, IM, and SQ routes.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiographs and ultrasound support.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care.
• Prepare for surgery and use sterile technique and appropriate instrument handling.
• Monitor patients, score pain, and recognize trends.
