About The Position

Lafayette Animal Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join a fun, fast-paced team that maintains a high standard of patient care. The role involves supporting patients and clients through clinical care, surgery, diagnostics, and client education. The hospital offers general practice, walk-in, urgent care, and emergency services. The position is listed at 30–40 hours per week, with a flexible four- or five-day work week and mandatory rotating Saturday shifts. Pay is $20–$26, based on experience.

Requirements

• At least 2 years in the veterinary industry is preferred.
• Experience with surgical and anesthetic cases is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary industry tools and equipment.
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint.
• Understanding of the importance of client education.
• Compassion toward patients and clients.
• Motivation to learn new skills.
• Positive and supportive team-player attitude.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to room patients, assist in surgery, place IV catheters, draw blood and run bloodwork, and perform x-rays with proper positioning.
