About The Position

VCA Gettysburg Road Animal Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to support its technician and doctor teams and provide compassionate, high-standard veterinary care. The role focuses on creating a positive, low-stress experience for clients and patients and helping pet owners feel confident in the care their pets receive. The technician will use their experience to assist with patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, surgery, dentistry, diagnostic procedures, treatment, and recovery. The position is located at 1010 Wesley Dr, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with compensation of $18–$22 per hour.

• Experienced Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinary technician and doctor teams in providing care to patients.
• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
• Deliver an outstanding client experience and help build pet owners’ confidence in the care provided.
• Perform physical examinations and patient assessments.
• Monitor anesthesia.
• Prepare for and assist with surgery.
• Provide dentistry services.
• Perform radiology and laboratory work.
• Perform venipuncture and place catheters.
• Support pharmacy activities and patient recovery.
• Provide compassionate care to hospitalized animals.
