About The Position

Caring Hands Merrifield is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery; performs technical procedures and laboratory work; communicates with clients; maintains medical records; and helps ensure hospital spaces and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready. The technician is expected to handle animals compassionately and follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and every other Saturday. Compensation is $25.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is sought in the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
