About The Position

Animal & Bird Clinic of Mission Viejo is hiring a Veterinary Technician. This is a unique hybrid role where you’ll work side-by-side with our veterinarians, educate clients, assist with treatments and procedures, and help create an exceptional experience from check-in to discharge. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who wants to provide exceptional patient care while helping clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their pet’s visit.

Requirements

• Previous Veterinary Assistant experience
• A passion for veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care
• Strong client communication and education skills
• A compassionate and supportive approach to working with pets and their families
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment
• A collaborative, team-first mindset
• A desire to learn new skills and take on a variety of responsibilities
• The ability to balance hands-on patient care with outstanding client service

Responsibilities

• Assist with urgent care cases
• Assist with surgical and dental procedures
• Support patients throughout recovery
• Assist with pharmacy needs and medication education
• Provide client education and participate in treatment plan discussions
• Provide patient treatments, nursing care, and hands-on Veterinary Assistant support
• Prepare exam rooms and help appointments run smoothly from start to finish
• Partner closely with veterinarians throughout appointments
• Assist with patient handling, treatments, diagnostics, and nursing care as needed
• Review estimates and help clients understand recommendations and next steps
• Collaborate with an experienced and supportive medical team
• Help create an exceptional client and patient experience from check-in through discharge
