About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician to join the team at a privately owned veterinary hospital. The role includes assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. The Veterinary Technician works closely with clinic staff to support the health and well-being of pet patients. The hospital is in a country setting and has many windows.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician is required.
- Knowledge of animal care and handling.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment.
- Patience and a love for animals.
Responsibilities
- Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic.
- Obtain and monitor vitals on non-anesthetized patients.
- Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history.
- Acquire blood samples.
- Perform cytology staining.
- Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery.
- Administer medications and provide clients with at-home dosage instructions.
- Keep accurate patient records.
