About The Position

Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. The practice is a full-service veterinary facility in Sarasota, Florida, serving dogs, cats, and their caretakers. Its modern facility supports clinical care, boarding, and grooming services. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The salary is $18.00–$20.00 per hour, dependent on skills and experience. Requirements

Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is identified as part of the ideal candidate profile.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
