Requirements
- At least two years of veterinary technician experience or veterinary technician licensure/certification
- Surgical experience
- Proficiency with anesthesia and perioperative patient care
- Strong drug-calculation skills
- Exam room technician skills
- Confidence with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- The ability to build rapport with clients, teammates, and leadership
- Strong client education and communication skills, including the ability to explain recommendations clearly and professionally
- A positive and supportive approach
- Team leadership and motivation
- The confidence to take ownership of responsibilities and deliver positive outcomes
- A desire to continue learning and growing within veterinary medicine
Responsibilities
- Performing surgical technician responsibilities, including anesthetizing, maintaining, monitoring, and recovering patients perioperatively
- Performing accurate drug calculations
- Performing the responsibilities and skills of an exam room technician
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Supporting safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care
- Communicating effectively with clients and fellow team members
