About The Position

Belton Animal Clinic and Exotic Care Center is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, along with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

The position pays $25.00–$27.00 per hour, based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Team members work four days per week from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an hour lunch. Some Saturdays are required from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The clinic offers specialized diagnostic and surgical procedures and care for exotic pets, including reptiles, small mammals, and birds. It is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), which requires adherence to higher standards. The clinic is dedicated to celebrating diversity and providing inclusive service in the community.

Requirements

• Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with dispensing medications.
• Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
