About The Position
Tequesta Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The role supports veterinarians with examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery; performs technical procedures and laboratory work; communicates with clients; maintains accurate medical records; and helps keep the clinic clean, stocked, and prepared. The clinic is a three-doctor AAHA hospital in an affluent coastal community, offering diagnostic and treatment equipment including ultrasound, digital X-ray and digital dental X-ray, an in-house lab, and a class 4 therapeutic laser. The clinic seeks an upbeat, compassionate candidate interested in growing and building a long-term career.
Requirements
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
- Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
- Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
