About The Position
LaVale Veterinary Hospital, a trusted name in Western Maryland since 1985, is seeking an experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician. This AAHA-accredited hospital offers around-the-clock support with general practice and after-hours urgent care. The facility is equipped with advanced diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, chemotherapy, digital radiology, and therapeutic laser. The hospital is looking for a candidate who is cool under pressure, confident in their skills, and ready to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Requirements
- Current LVT, RVT, or CVT credential required
- At least 2 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting
- Confidence in triage, IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, radiology, anesthesia, and critical patient monitoring
- Strong communication skills with clients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively
- A calm, compassionate demeanor with strong attention to detail
- Flexibility and interest in occasional 2nd or 3rd shift opportunities
Responsibilities
- Provide thoughtful, hands-on patient care and nursing support
- Perform radiographs, place IV catheters, draw blood, and assist in procedures and surgeries
- Monitor anesthesia and hospitalized patients
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records and follow hospital protocols
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
- Support a collaborative and positive team environment
