About The Position
Kings Trail Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value experienced technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.
Requirements
- 1+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
- Surgical assistance, aseptic technique, and patient handling/restraint
- Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and medication administration
- Radiology positioning, laboratory sample collection, and in-house diagnostics
- Accurate medical record documentation and client education/communication
- Strong critical thinking, multitasking, teamwork, and commitment to high-quality patient care
Responsibilities
- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Assisting in surgery
- Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
- Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
