North East Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Experienced or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. Requirements

  • Previous veterinary technician experience or an active veterinary technician license
  • Strong anesthesia assisting and monitoring skills
  • Experience with veterinary dentistry
  • Confidence with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Strong patient history-taking and medical documentation skills
  • Knowledge of canine and feline vaccines
  • Strong understanding of preventive veterinary care
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Empathy for clients, patients, coworkers, and yourself
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • The ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy clinical environment
  • A positive, dependable, and collaborative attitude
  • The confidence to take ownership of responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, procedures, and surgeries
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and anesthetic procedures
  • Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Closely monitor patient vital signs throughout anesthetic procedures
  • Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples
  • Place IV catheters and assist with fluid therapy
  • Perform and assist with dental procedures
  • Obtain complete patient histories and relevant medical information
  • Maintain accurate and thorough treatment records
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Apply your knowledge of vaccine schedules and preventive care
  • Educate clients about medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations
  • Assist with diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam and treatment areas
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and other team members
  • Support teammates and contribute to an efficient hospital workflow
  • Help create a positive experience for every patient and client
