About The Position

Skippack Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time or part-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners. The role supports veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery; performs technical duties; communicates with clients; and helps maintain a clean, stocked, and safe hospital environment. The hospital serves dogs, cats, and exotic mammals in Skippack, Pennsylvania, and emphasizes comprehensive, personalized care in a warm, welcoming, state-of-the-art facility. The position pays $20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Full-time and part-time schedules are available, with rotating alternating three-day and four-day workweeks. The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Requirements

At least 1 year of veterinary experience.
Surgical experience.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
