About The Position

Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and detail-oriented Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team. This role provides technical and nursing support for patients undergoing advanced diagnostics, procedures, treatments, and ongoing case management within the Internal Medicine service. This role works closely with internists, fellow technicians, assistants, and client service teams to ensure safe patient handling, accurate treatment delivery, thorough documentation, and excellent continuity of care. This individual will thrive in a specialty environment that requires critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to balance hands-on patient care with detailed coordination and communication.

Requirements

  • Veterinary technician experience required; radiology or specialty experience strongly preferred
  • Anesthesia experience required
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, medication administration, patient restraint, and nursing care
  • Comfortable monitoring sedated and anesthetized patients and supporting procedural care
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment with a strong focus on teamwork and patient safety
  • Professionalism, dependability, and accountability in all aspects of the role
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Ability to follow hospital policies and medical protocols consistently
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation
  • Ability to contribute positively to team culture

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred, though strong experienced candidates may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for internal medicine appointments, diagnostics, procedures, and treatments while ensuring safety, comfort, and efficient case flow
  • Assist with patient assessment, venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, medication administration, diagnostic workups, and advanced procedures as directed
  • Provide anesthesia and sedation support for internal medicine procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment documentation, and communication with doctors, clients, and hospital teams to support continuity of care
  • Collaborate closely with internists, technicians, assistants, and other departments to support an organized, efficient, and high-quality workflow
