About The Position

Tequesta Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The clinic is a three-doctor AAHA hospital in an affluent coastal community. The ideal candidate has animal-care and client-communication experience, is familiar with veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. The position pays $18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. The schedule requires flexibility Monday through Saturday: weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and rotating Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There are no Sunday hours or holidays. The clinic has ultrasound, digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, an in-house laboratory, and a class 4 therapeutic laser.

Requirements

• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
