About The Position

Join our fun and friendly team at White Mountain Animal Hospital in beautiful Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona. We are currently seeking a Veterinary Technician! If you enjoy working with animals and are committed to providing excellent customer service, come join our team! Our practice is a small animal hospital offering general medicine as well as emergency services. We are seeking a candidate who can multitask, has the desire to learn, and can work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred candidates will be organized and enthusiastic. We are looking to hire an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. The veterinary industry is constantly changing and advancing. Requirements

  • 1+ years of veterinary experience
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (preferred)
  • Experience rooming patients
  • Surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used
  • Drawing blood and running bloodwork
  • Knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients
  • Surgical assisting
  • Drawing blood and running bloodwork
  • Knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning
  • Proper animal handling and restraint
  • Client education
  • Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
  • Taking TPR (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration)
  • Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
  • Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Placing IV catheters
  • Digital radiology including positioning
  • Dentistry (scaling, polishing, anesthetic monitoring)
  • Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
  • Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; Idexx laboratory equipment
  • Excellent client communication/education
  • Cross-trained with reception & kenneling experience
