About The Position

Northside Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician or license-eligible Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The role involves supporting veterinarians with examinations, surgery, anesthesia, recovery, and other technical procedures, while communicating with clients and helping maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked hospital. The clinic is a full-service animal hospital in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, offering routine and emergency care as well as alternative therapies. The position averages 35–40 hours per week across four 10-hour shifts. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM. Salary is $24–$42 per hour, based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification or eligibility for licensure in New York.
Surgical experience.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Availability for the stated schedule, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
