About The Position

Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician for a full-time position in Tallahassee, FL. This multi-doctor 24/7 veterinary emergency hospital serves the Big Bend region of North Florida, South Georgia, and parts of Southern Alabama. The role involves working fast-paced afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts, with flexible days and hours. Requirements

  • 2 years of prior experience working as a veterinary assistant or technician
  • Ability to perform ICU, Emergency and reception duties (for Overnight Technicians)

Responsibilities

  • Manage critical ill and injured inpatients
  • Perform diagnostic sampling, testing, and imaging
  • Venipuncture
  • Surgical prep and assistance
  • Work with Multiple DVMs to stabilize emergency patients
  • Closely monitor and provide treatments to critically ill and injured patients
  • Report changes to DVM
  • Update owners on progress daily
  • Medical Math
  • Manage veterinary assistants, perform VA duties as needed
  • Triage and stabilize critical emergency patients
  • Recognize true emergencies
  • Create and explain treatment plans and financial estimates along with DVM
  • Keep owners updated on status of patient
  • Perform ICU, Emergency and reception duties (for Overnight Technicians)
