About The Position

Allied Veterinary Emergency Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician for a full-time position in Tallahassee, FL. This multi-doctor 24/7 veterinary emergency hospital serves the Big Bend region of North Florida, South Georgia, and parts of Southern Alabama. The role involves working fast-paced afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts, with flexible days and hours. Requirements

2 years of prior experience working as a veterinary assistant or technician
Ability to perform ICU, Emergency and reception duties (for Overnight Technicians)

Responsibilities

Manage critical ill and injured inpatients
Perform diagnostic sampling, testing, and imaging
Venipuncture
Surgical prep and assistance
Work with Multiple DVMs to stabilize emergency patients
Closely monitor and provide treatments to critically ill and injured patients
Report changes to DVM
Update owners on progress daily
Medical Math
Manage veterinary assistants, perform VA duties as needed
Triage and stabilize critical emergency patients
Recognize true emergencies
Create and explain treatment plans and financial estimates along with DVM
Keep owners updated on status of patient
Perform ICU, Emergency and reception duties (for Overnight Technicians)
