About The Position

White Oak Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with patient care and procedures, communicates with clients, and helps maintain clean, well-stocked treatment areas and equipment. Candidates must be flexible and available for a variety of shifts during the hospital’s operating hours, including rotating Saturday coverage. The clinic treats dogs, cats, and exotic pets and provides veterinary, surgical, and dental care.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of veterinary experience.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Availability for varied shifts during hospital operating hours, including rotating Saturday coverage.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
