About The Position

Belton Animal Clinic and Exotic Care Center is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. This position works four days per week from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch. Some Saturdays are required from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The hourly salary is $25.00–$27.00, depending on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. The clinic offers specialized diagnostic and surgical procedures and care for exotic pets, including reptiles, small mammals, and birds. It is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and states that it is committed to a diverse and inclusive culture.

Requirements

Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is sought for the ideal candidate.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
