About The Position
Orlando Vets- Alafaya Trail is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians in patient care and procedures, communicates with clients, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment. The schedule is 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. The listed salary is $18.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital is located in Oviedo, Florida. Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
- Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is sought in the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
- Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with dispensing medications.
- Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
