About The Position

Ardmore Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join its five-doctor, AAHA-accredited practice in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. The technician will work alongside veterinarians to support medical, surgical, and preventative care in a collaborative environment focused on patient wellbeing and team development. The role includes direct patient care, diagnostic and laboratory work, anesthesia and surgical support, dental care, client education, and administrative tasks. The practice offers flexible scheduling, continuing education and professional development opportunities, and Sundays and major holidays off.

Requirements

Previous experience working as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting.
Confidence with patient handling, nursing care, and common technical procedures.
Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client interactions.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy veterinary hospital.
Willingness to collaborate, share knowledge, and continue developing clinical skills.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with anesthesia and dental procedures.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians during wellness visits, medical evaluations, and treatment procedures.
Obtain blood samples, place IV catheters, and provide hands-on nursing care.
Prepare medications and assist with treatment plans.
Run diagnostic tests and prepare laboratory specimens for analysis.
Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures.
Perform dental cleanings and help with advanced dental treatments.
Care for hospitalized patients, monitor recovery, and document changes in patient condition.
Educate pet owners about medications, treatment instructions, and follow-up care.
Maintain complete medical records and assist with appointment scheduling and billing.
Keep treatment areas, equipment, and patient spaces clean and ready for use.
